Description
There’s a reason Super Slinkys are the default upgrade whenever someone hands you a guitar strung with mystery strings from three years ago. This 2223 single pack gives you the classic .009-.011-.016-.024w-.032-.042 gauge spread that Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Angus Young have leaned on for decades of riffing, bending, and everything in between.
The wound strings pair nickel-plated steel wrap wire with a hex-shaped steel core, which is the combo that gives Slinkys their springy feel and that bright-but-not-brittle attack. The plain strings are tin-plated high carbon steel, tempered specifically to keep the top end from going harsh while still cutting through a mix. Put them together and you get a balanced voice that works whether you’re chasing blues phrasing or full-on rock leads.
Swap a dead set for a fresh pack of these and the difference is immediate — tuning stability comes back, harmonics chime instead of thud, and bends feel like they actually want to move instead of fighting you back. That’s the whole point of keeping a stash of Slinkys on hand instead of waiting until a string snaps mid-set.
