Description
EXL110+ splits the difference for guitarists who feel torn between standard 10s and beefier 11-gauge sets. That extra half-gauge on the high E (10.5 instead of 10) gives you a touch more resistance under the fingers and a little more low-end push, without tipping into “heavy set” territory. It’s the set players reach for when they want to build hand strength gradually or just want strings that don’t feel like rubber bands.
There’s a second use case that’s just as useful: scale length balancing. If your main guitar is a 25.5″ scale strung with 10s, your shorter-scale guitars (24.75″ and under) can feel noticeably looser with the same gauge. Dropping EXL110+ on those shorter necks brings the tension back in line, so switching between guitars mid-set doesn’t mean fighting a different feel every time.
Construction is straightforward D’Addario nickel-plated steel wound over a round core, giving that bright, articulate top end and solid low-end thump these sets are known for. Every set ships in corrosion-resistant packaging, so what you install is exactly as fresh as when it left the factory — no dead spots before you’ve even tuned up.
- Gauges: .0105, .0135, .018 plain steel / .028, .038, .048 nickel wound
- Round wound nickel-plated steel for bright, defined tone
- “Plus” gauge bridges the gap between 10s and 11s
- Great for evening out tension across different scale lengths
- Corrosion-resistant packaging keeps strings fresh until install
- Made in the U.S.A.
Keep a few sets in the case — StringRush players know a fresh set beats a dead one every single time.
