Description
Seven-string rigs put brutal tension and stretch on strings, and regular sets just cave under it — NYXL1059 doesn’t. D’Addario built these with a reinvented high-carbon steel core and their fusion-twisted plain steels, so you get real strength on the low B without sacrificing snap on top.
Swap a dead set for these and the difference is immediate: tuning locks in fast and holds through aggressive bends and palm-muted chugging, thanks to up to 131% greater tuning stability over standard nickel wound strings. The reformulated nickel winding also boosts magnetic output, pushing more presence into that 1-3.5 kHz range so riffs cut through a dense mix instead of getting buried.
Gauges are dialed in specifically for 7-string players at 25.5″ scale — .010 .013 .017 plain steel, .026 .036 .046 .059 nickel wound — giving you a regular light feel that still handles drop tunings with authority.
- New York-made high carbon steel alloy core for serious break resistance
- Faster tuning, better pitch stability than traditional nickel wound sets
- Enhanced mid-range punch (1-3.5 kHz) for cut-through presence and crunch
- 7-string specific gauge set optimized for 25.5″ scale: .010 .013 .017 .026 .036 .046 .059
- Corrosion-resistant packaging keeps them fresh until you’re ready to string up
Once you feel a fresh NYXL set under your fingers versus a worn-out one, going back is rough — get these in your case before your next session.
