It’s their most minimal coating to date, wrapped around nickel plated steel wire so thin you’d swear you’re playing bare strings — crisp attack, natural finger feel, none of that slick coated-string sensation some players complain about.
What you don’t feel is the sweat, oil, and grime that normally eats away at your tone within days. OPTIWEB seals that stuff out, so the bright, articulate voice you get on day one sticks around for way longer than your usual set — coated or not. The plain steel strings get Anti-Rust Plating too, so the whole set ages evenly instead of your wound strings outlasting dead-sounding plain ones.
Custom Light gauge (.009-.046) is a comfortable middle ground: still bendable and forgiving on the fingers, but with enough backbone under the wound strings for solid rhythm tone.
